Now is the time!

Most of us who purchased health insurance on the federal marketplace will be automatically re-enrolled in our 2014 health insurance plan. If you authorized the Marketplace to access your tax return information, your eligibility for tax credits and cost sharing reductions will also be determined. Your insurance company and the Marketplace will provide you information that includes your 2015 coverage and premiums and an estimation of your share of the premium. You should receive this information by November 15, 2014. At any point in the process you may contact ASPIN for assistance or more information.
We suggest that now is a good time to review your current insurance. Is it working for you? Are you getting the services you need? Are you happy with your provider? Are you enrolled in a plan that best meets your needs and budget -- or should you choose a different plan with lower deductibles, broader provider networks, or more affordable prescription coverage, as examples?
We encourage you to update your income and tax information by logging into your Marketplace account. You may be eligible for less or more tax credits or cost sharing reductions that may impact the affordability for you.
If your plan will not be offered in 2015, you will be enrolled in a plan that is substantially similar, if one exists, or you will be asked to select a new plan. Your insurer will send you an explanation of your options.
Remember, open enrollment begins again on November 15, 2014. Many of us will be automatically re-enrolled in the same plan or one similar to the one we have now. However, each of us should take the time to assess our own circumstances and determine if the new health insurance is working for us. If we need to make changes, open enrollment is the time to do so. If you need assistance assessing your options, accessing your coverage or enrolling or re-enrolling, knowledgeable, reliable help is a phone call away. Call ASPIN at 1-877-313-7215. We have Certified Navigators throughout the State of Indiana who can help. And ASPIN services are always free!
